2023 Fall Cheer

Hawks Cheerleading is excited to announce that registration is OPEN for our 2023/2024 season!
 
We will be working to fill teams in following divisions for Fall 2023 – at this time, we expect to be able to open our Tiny Mite and Mighty Mite divisions but are still in need of assistant coaches (1 per team) and support coordinators (1 per team). If these roles have not been fulfilled by the close of registration, we will not be able to offer the program. In the event we do not, we will notify registrants as soon as possible and issue a full refund (less the credit card fee) by June 30th. We are looking for head coaches, assistant coaches and coordinators for the Junior Pee Wee and Pee Wee teams as we will not be able to run these programs without a coaching/support team, so if you would like to volunteer to lead these programs, please reach out!
 
We are still actively seeking a volunteer who would be willing to take on the role of “Director of Cheer” which is the face of the Hawks Cheer Program, and represents Hawks Cheer within our local Buxmont League. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to volunteer for any of these opportunities!
 
Pop Warner age is the players age as of August 1st. You are able to check the age your cheerleader will be categorized as here. Teams may be adjusted based on enrollment numbers.
 
Tiny Mite - Ages 5, 6, 7
Mighty Mite - Ages 7, 8, 9
Jr. Pee Wee - Ages 8, 9, 10, 11 [PENDING COACH AVAILABILITY]
Pee Wee - Ages 9, 10, 11, 12  [PENDING COACH AVAILABILITY]
 
All of these divisions will begin practice on August 1st, 2023. Practices are 4 days per week during August leading up to the start of school. Once school starts, practices are reduced to 2 nights per week.
 
PLEASE NOTE: In order to complete registration, you will need to upload a clear PROFILE PICTURE of your player along with their BIRTH CERTIFICATE. These are required by Bux Mont. You did not need to upload doctor signature, medical history, or player contract, or report card to complete registration. However, they will be required later.
 
We are implementing a volunteer fee of $50 per player this season. All families that volunteer a set amount of shifts (to be determined based on team size) will be refunded this fee. The Hawks organization relies heavily on our volunteers, especially during cheerleading season. We need volunteers for every home game (snack stand) in addition to our head and assistant coaches. More information will be sent to registered families with opportunities to volunteer prior to the start of the season.

Team Placement -   All cheerleaders will be placed on teams in August based on age and the number of athletes registered in the program.  The Hatboro-Horsham Hawks reserves the right to place participants on a team that best suits their skill level. 
 
What is included in the Registration Fee? 
All cheerleaders will receive a uniform to use for the season. A deposit will be required and returned when the uniform shell and skirt are returned in good condition at the end of the season.  Sideline and competition bow, practice shirt, and cheer jacket which are all yours to keep! 
  
Cheerleaders will be expected to additionally purchase sneakers, boy shorts, crop top (for cold days & for competition) and pom poms. This ensures teams maintain a uniform look as a squad. All items can be ordered through the cheer director for your convenience.  
 
Parents/Guardians may be responsible for additional costs throughout the season.  (i.e. competition fees, travel and accommodations for competitions, practice space). You will be provided with as much advance notice as possible regarding any additional out-of-pocket costs. 
 
Practice Schedule: 
Cheerleading is a team sport, and our teams can only succeed if everyone is in attendance.  100% of attendance is expected at practices and games unless there is an approved absence.   All teams required to participate in 20 hours of conditioning before the start of the traditional practice season. Conditioning is typically the first two full weeks in August (Monday-Thursday) in the evenings. Following conditioning, cheer teams will practice two nights per week.    August practices are held at the Hawks field. Beginning in September/October cheer teams anticipate moving to indoor practice space based upon availability.
